A place to connect through Tamil language, culture, and community. Since 2024, we’ve proudly supported families across the Hunter Region especially in Lake Macquarie and Newcastle residents, New South Wales. As a not-for-profit organisation, our mission is to create a warm, inclusive space where children and families can learn and use Tamil, celebrate traditions, and grow together. Whether you’re here to strengthen language skills, explore cultural roots, or connect with others, you are part of a vibrant community that values identity, belonging, and pride in heritage.

Aram Tamil Association Inc. is a community-driven, not-for-profit organisation based in the heart of Lake Macquarie and Newcastle. We are dedicated to preserving the Tamil language and culture for future generations through educational programs, cultural activities, and active community engagement.
Our key initiative, ARAM TAMIL SCHOOL (அறம் தமிழ் பள்ளி) offers structured language classes and cultural learning for young learners from Kindergarten to Year 12. The school provides a supportive environment for children and their families to embrace their heritage, develop Tamil language skills, and build meaningful connections.
We don’t just teach Tamil we celebrate it. We are committed to fostering cultural pride, empowering children, and strengthening the bonds of our vibrant Tamil community

Aram Tamil School

Strengthening Tamil Language and Culture
அறம் தமிழ் பள்ளி ARAM TAMIL SCHOOL is the educational arm of Aram Tamil Association Inc. We are dedicated to promoting the Tamil language and culture through accessible, high-quality education. We offer Tamil language classes from Kindergarten to Year 12, following a structured six-stage curriculum aligned with NESA guidelines and the NSW school term calendar. Students build their skills from foundational reading and writing to exploring classical and modern Tamil literature.
In addition to our Saturday in-person classes, students benefit from:
Daily online reading classes, which reinforce fluency and pronunciation.
Weekly Tamil grammar classes, providing an in-depth understanding of language structure and usage.
At Aram Tamil School, our passionate and experienced educators create a nurturing, inclusive environment that supports each child’s growth in language proficiency, cultural identity, and confidence. We also prepare senior students for success in HSC Tamil, with a focus on achieving high distinction.
Our mission is to instill a lifelong love for Tamil and a strong sense of community pride in every student.

Enriching Communities with Tamil Heritage

Aram Tamil Association Inc is deeply connected with the Hunter region community through vibrant and meaningful activities. We participate in the Lake Macquarie Living Together Festival, sharing Tamil culture through dance and food, while also organizing our own cultural dance programs to engage families. Our cooking workshops introduce the community to authentic Tamil cuisine, fostering rich cultural exchanges. We actively join Clean Up Australia Day and lead educational sessions on sustainable living, promoting environmental awareness and community wellbeing. These initiatives help us build strong bonds with the wider community, encouraging cultural appreciation and a shared commitment to sustainability. Through these efforts, we’re nurturing a spirit of belonging and pride, weaving Tamil culture into the vibrant tapestry of our region.

The Art of Yoga for Wellbeing

We offer online yoga classes that provide a peaceful, balanced end to our Saturday sessions. Our “யோகக் கலை – The Art of Yoga” program helps children develop physical strength, flexibility, and mindfulness, fostering holistic wellbeing and emotional regulation in a fun, engaging environment.
